Rachel Wylie: ‘Once Upon a Time… In Modern Loneliness’

Once upon a time,
There lived a girl,
The girl spent most of her days
In isolation,
Waiting for a prince that would understand
And save her from her fractured heart.
So the girl waited patiently.
For days,
Weeks,
Months,
years.
But the girl never lost hope.
Until eventually, she realised that waiting for someone
To save her
Was a lost dream
No one would be coming to her rescue,
That job was up to her
