Even as night quiets

Even as night quiets,
Desert-dark spring stars
Flower and fade, chill, frost,
Weepy pussy willow pale-white:

While Black Sage, Brittlebush,
Dawn-to-dusk Winter Fat,
Ever tone-deaf, stone-cold,
Ever filling endless perfect fields

Of spring, of summer.
